Vivarium Monitoring

Vivarium monitoring, on a data platform that keeps the record.

An animal facility is already instrumented, and almost none of what it measures is joined to the studies it affects. Conditions are logged on controllers, checks happen on a round, and the question of what the environment was doing on the day a study ran is answered from memory.

What it does

Continuous conditions, joined to the work they affect.

The same governed record that carries samples carries facility conditions, so environment stops being a separate log and becomes context a result can be read against later.

  • Conditions captured continuously and centrally rather than on a round
  • Readings joined to the study, room and period they relate to
  • Alerts raised against what is affected, not just the device that reported
  • History kept in full, so a question months later has an answer
  • The same audit trail, attribution and access control as every other application

If you run a facility, we would like to hear how you monitor it.

The work is early enough that what we build is still shaped by the people who will use it.
